RATIONALE
Sensitive about
the crucial role of S&T in national development, the
Academy has been proactive in addressing issues and
concerns surrounding Philippine scientific efforts as
far goals of national development are concerned.
Pursuant to its
mandate to recognize outstanding achievements in
science and technology and to provide meaningful
incentives to those engaged or would like to engage in
scientific and technological endeavors, NAST is
establishing a competition geared towards the
collegiate level.
The competition
is open to Bachelor of Science students whose research
outputs would be a significant contribution to
research and development in science and technology
specifically on engineering and technology. The
winner/recipient of the competition will receive a
plaque of recognition, cash incentives and research
grant upon submission of an approved project/research
proposal.
OBJECTIVES
1.) to recognize
outstanding research outputs on engineering and
technology at the collegiate level.
2.) to encourage
young Filipino students to pursue a career in science.
PRIZE
The First, Second
and Third Prize winners will receive a cash prize of
P50,000, P30,000 and P20,000, respectively and plaques
of recognition from NAST. The special citations will
receive a cash prize of P10,000 each and a plaque of
recognitions from NAST.
The First Prize
winner will also be given a research grant of P500,000
upon approval of a project proposal.

Nominations to this award
may be made/endorsed by the honor societies,
professional academic societies, and school
administrators with the following requirements:
